Having abusive parents in the Latino community is so normalized. We grow up thinking a “never ending family roast” or our parents making fun of us is ok and when we react they try make us feel guilty about treating them bad when we are just asking for basic respect.
Remember that i love you in spanish has two meanings, it could be “te quiero” wich is the general love you have for ur friends or close classmates, not so close family members or workmates etc and “te amo” wich is mostly reserved for your lover is a sign of deep love wich is used for ur parents, lover, real close friends etc, anyways u decide who u can use the words on just tho that people that are learning spanish should know the difference
I grew up learning to say te amo to only your partner..? And say te quiero to anyone else, including your parents and family and close friends.
